Jason,
This is the 2nd time this season that we've lost 2 in a row. We lost to Florida and Tampa in October.

PS
Love the blogs. Keep up the great work.

Thanks,

Matt

I didn't get to see the game last night. Any summary thoughts from someone who did?

Also, what happened to Sundqvist?

Petro, Schenn, and Schwartz controlled most of the play when they were on the ice and forced Mcdavid and Draisaitl to play in their own end quite a lot which enabled the Blues depth to take advantage of a pretty top heavy Oilers team. Didn't check to see if all the stats bear this out but that is what I saw. The first period was a bit chippy, Thorburn got in about a two second fight with Kassian.

I can't help but wonder if the passing of Ari didn't put the boys in a bit of a funk last week. I think the off day in Edmonton did them a lot of good.

They looked like the team we are used to seeing this season again last night.

And Sunny just won the hearts of most Blues fans on that PK.

He seems like a great fit for our 4th line. 3rd if he could put up some offense.......but I'm happy with his play overall.

No

We need a RH Dman so either Piet or Parayko will do thanks.

No way. It's true the team hasn't really felt his loss that much but that's because Petro has been playing Norris caliber D and with the emergence of Dunn and the subtraction of Shatty, the depth is much improved. Still, no one has really been able to grab the 2 spot beside Petro, and they've been platooning all the leftys there all season. When J bo gets back he will likely spell gunnarson and the D will be more stabilized especially on the PK.

I honestly don't know that I'd do it. For roughly half the salary, you get a guy who is integrally part of one of the top teams in the league.

I used to think that Parayko had the potential to be an elite D man but I'm not sure he has the offensive ability. He still may but as of right now, he's not ready to be the number 1.

Agree completely. Obviously McDavid is a generational talent but if you added him to the current blues roster and subtracted petro would that really improve their chances of winning right now ? I'm not so sure. I guess at that point we would resemble the Pitt team from last year (remember letang was injured) that won it all so who knows.

Obviously Edmonton would never in a million years make the trade anyway. Actually don't put anything past that gm. Wow he's made some questionable moves

Ok, let's compromise. You can have Bortuzzo.
